What happened

On October 1, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry draw #447, inviting 3,500 candidates in the Trades Occupations (2026-Version 3) round. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 476.

This is the first category-based trades round in the recorded series — after alternating CEC and PNP rounds through September, IRCC turned to skilled trades. At 3,500 invitations, it is the largest single round in that stretch.

IRCC applied a tie-breaking rule: candidates with a CRS score of exactly 476 needed an Express Entry profile submitted before May 28, 2026 at 16:55 UTC to be invited.

What this means for your score

Trades cutoffs cannot be compared directly with CEC or PNP cutoffs, since category-based draws pull from a separate occupation pool. A 476 here says nothing about where the next CEC round lands.

If you are trades-eligible with a CRS score of 476 or higher, you were in the invitation range for this round — provided your profile was submitted before the tie-breaking date if you sat exactly at 476. Trades rounds run less often than CEC/PNP rounds, so each one counts more. Run the CRS calculator to confirm your score, and keep your profile current: language scores still move the needle for trades candidates too.
