What this site stores

This summary describes how the current beta works. Please do not enter passport details, a SIN, banking information or other sensitive identifiers.

Your checklist

Your checklist answers, including arrival date, province and optional savings amount, are stored on our server under an anonymous browser-session ID. If you set up a profile, your immigration status, province and arrival month are stored the same way and used to personalize answers and the checklist. Checklist ticks are saved on our server for your session (with this browser's local storage as a backup when offline). The session cookie does not contain those answers.

Assistant conversations

Questions and answers are stored on our server for your browser session. The assistant sends your question, a short recent conversation history and selected official-source text to Anthropic's API to generate an answer. If you set up a profile, a short profile line (status, province, arrival month) goes with the question so the answer can reference your situation. Questions and usage details also appear in our application logs.

The Clear chat control deletes the conversation for the current session from the active chat table. It does not remove earlier log entries or backup copies. There is no automatic chat-deletion schedule in this beta.

Email and payment information

If you sign up for updates, we store your email, signup time and source, and relevant checklist context. Signup does not create an account or unlock AI access.

Settlement reminders (optional, off by default). If you tick "Email me settlement reminders", we store your email, the time you consented, and which reminders have been sent so none is ever sent twice. You receive at most 6 emails over your first year in Canada (arrival checklist, health card, driving, taxes). Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link that needs no login; unsubscribing removes the reminder email from your profile. We never share your email or use it for anything else. We never send reminders you did not ask for.

Gumroad handles checkout. Our application stores the buyer email, license key, sale reference and usage counters to verify and manage a pass. It does not receive card numbers. Purchases are currently closed.

Cookies, logs and backups

A secure session cookie can hold an anonymous ID, language choice, a question counter, your signup email if provided and, if activated, a hashed pass reference. The session lasts up to 30 days. Server logs may include IP addresses and visited paths. Customer-database backups rotate daily across seven copies; the live database has no automatic retention limit yet.

This release does not add advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Clearing browser storage removes local ticks and the session cookie, not copies already stored on the server.
